Days 56 & 57 -- Thursday & Friday, June 25 & 26

These two days were rather uneventful and that's fine by me. It was nice to have the opportunity to spend a little time with my folks, hug my nieces and nephews and take a couple of dips in my parents' pool (of course, we couldn't have a pool when I was growing up and still lived in Oklahoma; no, they had to wait until I moved 2,000 miles away and usually only get to come home at Christmas!)

I enjoyed the healthiest meal I've yet eaten on this trip (that's not saying much), a vegetarian dinner comprised of corn-on-the-cob, fresh green beans, fried yellow squash (Mmm-mmmmmm!) and new potatoes (thanks, Mom!). I also managed to get a little writing done and drove old 66 through OKC, so that, on Saturday morn, I could head west. It hardly sounds like enough activity to fill two days, I know, but there you go.
